The last sunset of 2009... a gorgeous sky! This is looking westward over Camp Cropper and the TIF. They say the Iraqi yellow haze makes for vivid sunsets... thanks to tiny sand particles that scatter red and orange wavelengths of light in the sky.
Later that night, after our Holiday mortar alert and accountability, we stepped out into a 2010 evening... and the New Year! December's blue moon has turned into a January full moon over the eastern skyline of central Baghdad.
