At 5:30 PM, the temps in Baghdad were still hovering around 122° F... our office decided to hoof it to the Aussie Pool in Camp Victory...

A former Saddam enclave, this particular locale on Al Faw Lake became the turf of the Australian Coalition Forces...

Later the buildings and conference rooms became a Coalition hotel and MWR mainstay called, The "New" Freedom Rest, when the IZ facility was turned over to GOI last spring...
