After work, we accepted an invitation from a patient to visit JVB Hotel... Victory Base Complex's 4-star lodgings for visiting dignitaries and USO celebs...
Perusing the guest ledger we see that President Bush and Obama stayed here... as well as the Dallas Cheerleaders... plus Kid Rock, Curt Schilling, Dane Cook, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Brees, Kevin Cosner, Lance Armstrong... that's all I could remember!
We were invited to eat in the dining room since evening chow was on... it was nice... and we're told Saddam ate here too..
And as it happened, we shared our meal time with the Olympic Heroes Tour. Gold medal winners look like normal folks when they're out of uniform...
On the way out we noticed Cuban cigars in the lobby. My patient said they're illegal in the States but perfectly fine here in Iraq... a favorite of several visitors including Governor Schwarzenegger... Ah'll be bach!
