Dinner in Camp Dublin...

The Carabinieri (Italian Army) invited the Iraqi Scouts and volunteers over for pizza...

Camp Dublin is on the west side... just north of Cropper and the ICO Village. Here are my dinner companions... SPCs Bacani and Moreno...

Our hosts began preparing dough earlier in the day... enough for 120 pizzas...

The Tuscan 1st Regiment Airborne installed this brick oven back in 2004 when Coalition troops first began to occupy this part of Baghdad Airport...

Frederico, our pizza cook "tosses" a pie into the oven which he fired with eucalyptus for three hours to get the right temperature...

He says his oven has the capacity for 10 pizzas. He's rotating pies to cook evenly...

Once finished... pizzas were sliced and served piping hot...

There were marinara and olive oil pizzas with mozzarella, mushrooms, garlic and oregano toppings...

One thing is certain... Scouts of all ages and nationalities love eating pizza!

And playing fußball and fútbol (soccer)...

Here are my three Carabinieri running buddies... we find each other at about the same pace in all the VBC road races...

For dessert... fired pizza dough topped with Nutella. Did you know that Nutella is an Italian concoction by Ferrero of Piedmont, Italy?  No lie!

The paddle says "Bella Italia Pizzeria"
