Our OAC group toured the Center For The Intrepid today. The Center is located next to Brooke Army Medical Center. Built from private donations in 2007, the 65,000 square foot facility was established to provide state-of-the-art care for US servicemen and women. The average patient age is 22 and the majority came from operations in SW Asia--Iraq and Afghanistan. Most of these young people are amputee or burn victims. Some are both.
