With an ongoing drought in South Texas, brown lawns are in vogue. Publically, watering is restricted to one hour a week. Be that as it may San Antonio Botanical Garden volunteers water thirsty flowers, plants and trees daily. That's my new weekend job...My 4 hour gig involves working in the Garden's entrance: Rose garden, herb garden, formal garden, butterfly garden, Japanese garden and the garden for the blind. (I try to close my eyes when I'm watering there... just kiddin').
This is my second week volunteering and gardening makes me feel close to home... I like that.
