Rogue Email Debunked...

Ever get that circulating email about General John J. Pershing and the Filipino Incident of 1911? I did and thought, "Wow, how crafty... so that's how you got your nickname, Black Jack... you sly dog!"

The email goes like this:

While General Pershing was in the Philippines, Muslim terrorists were a problem, even back then, in the early 1900’s. He and his troops captured 50 of them, brought pigs out and slaughtered them, soaked their bullets in pigs blood while the terrorists were digging a trench.

The pig carcasses were thrown in the trench, and the prisoners were executed with the bullets, and their bodies were thrown in the trench with the pig carcasses. The 50th prisoner was set free to tell everyone what happened. After the “Phillipine Incident” there was not one Islamic act of terrorism anywhere in the world for the next 42 years.

Umm... two words people... It's Wrong! Yeah... a total Islamophobic myth. So if you're thinking about hanging a little bacon in your CHU to save your hide while in Theater... Forget about it!

For the record... that's turkey bacon!
