You Know You're In OIF...

Where "Function follows Form" in a war zone. "Up-armored" is the name of the game especially when your hide's on the line... !! So here's what we see... Iraqi Super-Sized:

The MRAP - Mine Resistant, Ambush Protected is the Army's version of the minivan... for moving soldiers from point A to point B in one piece! (Rode this puppy to & from the IZ on Route Irish)

The Phalanx System - C-RAM (Counter Rocket, Artillery, Mortar) technology guns down incoming rounds from the bad guys! Back in the States this is called a flyswatter for those pesky bugs! Ugh...

IOTV - Improved Outer Tactical Vest is donned whenever we go outside the wire or during IDF. A bullet-proof version of a raincoat. See Mr. Happy? So how important are your private parts?

Our ubiquitous T-Walls - Love 'em or not, they're a part of the Iraqi scenery! What you guys call picket fences, we call "Home Sweet Home" and that's the truth...

The All-American backyard grill - Yep, it's up-armored too... and for a good cause: Hardworkin' US soldiers love to relax off-duty... gather for a barbecue, enjoy some good music... even in far-off Iraq!
